Broadway Tourist Information

Broadway Tourist Information Centre was established to:

(a) Support and encourage tourism development and promotion in Broadway and the surrounding areas

(b) Support initiatives in Broadway and the surrounding areas designed to promote Broadway and the region

(c) Provide advice and information to visitors

(d) Educate and inform visitors on the buildings and natural heritage within Broadway and the surrounding areas

The Broadway Tourist Information Centre (TIC) is independent and entirely managed and staffed by volunteers. Every Broadway TIC volunteer shares the same common goal ‘to help visitors to Broadway, the wider Cotswolds and Worcestershire get the most out of their visit’.

Every TIC volunteer chooses how involved they wish to be in the organisation, and each is greatly appreciated for the contribution they make.

The TIC Volunteer Role

All Broadway TIC volunteers are a brand ambassadors for Broadway, the wider Cotswolds and Worcestershire. The volunteer role is varied, but mostly involves:

• Giving visitors instructions on how to get to the Tower
• Details of the two Broadway Museums
• The interesting historical properties to look out for in Broadway
• Places to eat and drink in Broadway
• How to get to Chipping Campden, Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh, the Malvern Hills, Worcester, Stratford Upon Avon and many other places
• Taking cash or card payments
• Answering any other visitor queries

Broadway TIC is extremely lucky to have a team of volunteers who are friendly and a pleasure to work with. As a new volunteer you will be made to feel very welcome. In return for your time and commitment you will:

• Have opportunities to meet new people and forge new friendships with other TIC volunteers
• Be a brand ambassador for Broadway and the wider Cotswolds
• Have the opportunity to visit local places of interest free of charge, as part of a TIC group outing. Visits have included the Gordon Russell Museum, The Broadway Museum, Broadway Tower, Sezincote, and Batsford Arboretum, to name just a few. These group visits are a small thank you for your time, and an opportunity for you to learn about the local attractions so you can share your knowledge with our visitors
• A fully funded Christmas lunch as a thank you for your commitment to the TIC
• A fully funded summer get together as a thank you for your commitment to the TIC

• Various Management Committee opportunities if you would like to have a greater involvement in the TIC

Volunteering Times

Broadway TIC is open Monday – Saturday 10 am – 1.30 pm from 1 February until just before Christmas. There are two volunteers on duty for each shift. Each TIC volunteer chooses how often and when they wish to work.

The rotas are posted on the wall in the TIC, and all volunteers (with a computer) have access to the Broadway TIC Dropbox folder. Simply look for the vacancies and volunteer for the dates that suit you.

Testing
